Your neck is under stress and strain from the minute you get out of bed until the end of the day. It not only carries your head around, but allows it to move in many different directions and can withstand the changes in direction of our bodies in activity, sport and automobiles.
Unfortunately, with so many active structures and so many moving parts, lots of things can go wrong.
Neck pain is one of the most common problems we treat at Head2Toe. Your Head2Toe Physiotherapist will quickly assess your neck condition and diagnose what structures are involved. We will then expertly provide you with treatment on the day and advise you on what you can do to help correct the problem.
Headaches come in many forms. The most severe ‘Migraine’ headaches can be quite debilitating for sufferers and require Medicinal help, however most other headaches can be relieved by physiotherapy treatment of the upper cervical spine, the sub-occipital muscles (under back of skull) and the upper back and shoulder muscles.
Poor posture is one of the most common causes of neck pain and Cervicogenic Headaches. As well as treating the structural issues mentioned above, your physiotherapist will work with you to learn better postural positioning and give advice on how to set up your workstation or desk to prevent posture being a possible cause of neck pain and headache.
Physiotherapists can refer patients for neck and spinal X-Rays on the Medicare Bulk-Billing system, so there is no out of pocket charge.
Ct-Scans and Ultrasounds can only be ordered by your GP, but an MRI can be ordered by your Physiotherapist, however the cost is not covered by Medicare or your Private Health Insurance.
