Pain that has been around for months behaves differently to pain from a fresh injury. The tissue is often fine and the nervous system has become protective, so the honest answer is rarely rest and rarely push through. It is working out how much load you can do today, then adding to it slowly enough that your body stops treating movement as a threat.

Who this suits

  • Back, neck or shoulder pain that has lasted more than three months
  • Pain that flares badly for days after you do too much
  • Tendon pain that has not settled with rest
  • People who have been told imaging looks fine but still hurt
  • Anyone avoiding activity because they are not sure what is safe

How the program works

We find a starting dose you can repeat without a flare, then build it in small steps. Flares are planned for rather than treated as failures, because expecting them is what stops them derailing the whole program.

Working with your physio

If you are already seeing one of our physiotherapists, the two run together well. Hands-on treatment and symptom modification get you moving, and the exercise physiology program builds the capacity that keeps it there.

Book the 45 minute initial assessment online, or call the clinic on 03 9326 0168 and reception will work out the right appointment and funding pathway with you. See pricing and funding for fees, NDIS, Medicare and DVA details.
